SPSS Introduces Clementine® 9.0 at Directions User Conference
CHICAGO, 10/25/04 — SPSS DIRECTIONS USER CONFERENCE, LAS VEGAS -
Clementine® 9.0, the latest version of the award-winning data mining
workbench from SPSS Inc.(NASDAQ: SPSS), is among the new SPSS
technologies being showcased at the SPSS Directions User Conference
being held this
week in Las Vegas. This latest version leverages Clementine’s open,
standards-based architecture to offer easy integration with IBM® DB2®
Data Warehouse Enterprise Edition and supports modeling with IBM
DB2®Intelligent Miner, enabling the building and scoring of models
directly in the DB2 Data Warehouse.
"Clementine was developed to help organizations meet business goals,
increase productivity and save time. Its intuitive, visual workflow
interface enables DB2 users to conduct 'train-of-thought' analysis, so
that they stay focused on business objectives rather than performing
technical tasks," says Tommy Eunice, IBM DB2 marketing manager. "The
latest version of Clementine fully integrates DB2 Data Warehouse
Edition's in-database mining capabilities, enabling faster, simpler data
mining and minimal data movement."
Clementine 9.0 will enable analysts using IBM DB2 Data Warehouse
Enterprise Edition to view Clementine models with DB2 Intelligent Miner
Visualization, and automatically deploy models built in Clementine into
DB2 Intelligent Miner Scoring.
“Our aim is to make the analyst’s job easier by enabling them to work
more quickly, efficiently and effectively,” says Peter Caron, SPSS
senior product manager. “Being able to access and build models provided
by IBM DB2 through the intuitive visual workflow of Clementine, as well
as deploy models developed in Clementine directly to IBM DB2, will
enable analysts to quickly and successfully each their business goals.”
