New Partnership Combines Survey Research, Predictive

CHICAGO, 02/24/05 — RTI International, the nation's second largest
independent research company, and SPSS Inc. (NASDAQ: SPSS), the leading
global provider of predictive analytics and survey research software,
today announced a strategic alliance that will combine their respective
strengths to offer innovative data collection and analysis solutions to
government and business.
"The agreement significantly increases our capabilities in the areas of
survey data collection and predictive analysis," said Don Camburn, RTI's
research vice president for Statistical, Survey, and Computing Sciences.
"Through this partnership, RTI researchers and their clients will have
access to a much wider range of cutting-edge software solutions for
information capture and management."
Initial areas of collaboration will include several large data
collection and survey projects in the public sector, K-12 education, and
projects in support of law enforcement. SPSS and RTI are also
collaborating in the creation of a services’ architecture for
cutting-edge data- and text-mining analytics combined with data
visualization.
"Through our association with RTI, we will develop new research software
solutions, such as real-time predictive analytics that will drive the
survey process," says Joe Federer, vice president of SPSS Worldwide
Services and Support. "Additionally, SPSS software will provide RTI
scientists with custom-tailored solutions to suit their growing business
needs."
In addition to its broad range of predictive analytic software and
solutions, Chicago-based SPSS offers a full complement of survey
research technologies, from instrument design, sample management, and
data collection to real-time analysis.
RTI, headquartered in North Carolina, has more than 1,000 ongoing
research projects in the United States and 30 other nations, including
two multi-year assessments of U.S. students' academic performance in
mathematics and reading for the U.S. Department of Education. |
