by
Maiet D. Biliran

Marketing research has become a dynamic global field as the demand for
faster and more efficient methods of gathering relevant and useful
information by international business communities, governments,
non-government organizations, and civil societies heightens by leaps and
bounds.
In response to this need, the Asia-Pacific Centre for Research
(ACRE), Inc. opens 2008 with a strengthened CATI and voice logger
technologies in its market research projects. These state-of-the art
data gathering facilities transform market research into a fast,
accurately reliable, and credible knowledge management process. The
CATI, through the voice logger and recorder allows quality control in
data processing a lot less painful and easier.
The use of computer-aided telephone interviewing (CATI) has facilitated
the completion of a number of projects by ACRE Inc. for its foreign
marketing research partners. Two of its partners in CATI-based research
are AIP Corporation and Crosstabs. The Singapore-based Gallup
Organization Pte Ltd. has contracted ACRE Inc. for its CATI-based
project that started in February 2008 and will be completed in December
2008. A number of market researches using the technology are being
queued for simultaneous implementation during the next three years.
With its CATI facilities, ACRE Inc. sketches a new landscape for the
market research industry of the Philippines to explore.
